Gaborone Technical College (GTC) is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for various diploma and certificate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year. All programmes are scheduled to commence in July 2025. Both citizens and non-citizens are encouraged to apply.

Programmes and Entry Requirements

1. Diploma in Fashion Design

• Duration: 36 months (or 24 months with alternative qualification)
• Requirements: NCQF Level IV or equivalent (28 points), Grade E or better in Fashion & Fabrics or Home Management. Art is an added advantage.
• Alternative Entry: NCC in Dressmaking or BTEP Certificate in Clothing Design & Textiles.

2. Diploma in Systems Administration

• Duration: 36 months (or 24 months with alternative qualification)
• Requirements: BGCSE with Grade D in at least two of Mathematics, Science, or Computer Studies, and Grade E in English.
• Alternative Entry: NCC or Trade C in Electrical.

3. Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies

• Duration: 12 months
• Requirements: National Diploma in Secretarial Studies.

4. National Diploma in Secretarial Studies

• Duration: 12 months
• Requirements: National Certificate in Secretarial Studies.

5. Diploma in Accountancy and Business Studies

• Duration: 12 months
• Requirements: Certificate in Accountancy and Business Studies (CABS).

6. Diploma in Travel Management

• Duration: 24 months
• Requirements: BTEP Certificate in Travel & Tourism or related qualification.

7. Diploma in Culinary Arts

• Duration: 24 months
• Requirements: NCC in Chef, BTEP Certificate in Hospitality Operations, or equivalent international culinary qualification.

8. Diploma in Hospitality Management

• Duration: 24 months
• Requirements: NCC in Hotel & Catering, BTEP Certificate in Hospitality, or an international qualification at Certificate Level 5.

9. BTEP Certificate in Beauty Therapy

• Duration: 18 months
• Requirements: BGCSE with minimum Grade D in Science and English, or Foundation in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy.

10. BTEP Certificate in Hairdressing

• Duration: 18 months
• Requirements: BGCSE with minimum Grade E in Science and English, or Foundation in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy.

11. BTEP Access to Hospitality Operations

• Duration: 24 months
• Requirements: Basic Literacy, Numeracy, and Social Skills.
  Note: Form 5 applicants are not allowed.

Special Consideration

Applicants under the Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Remote Area Communities (RAC), and Special Educational Needs (SEN) categories are encouraged to apply. Confirmation of status from relevant authorities is required.

For BTEP Access to Hospitality Operations, candidates aged 16 and above should apply with the help of guardians and attach:

• A valid psychological assessment report indicating Mild Intellectual Disability.
• Certified copies of educational certificates (if available) and Omang.
• Learner profile from the last educational institution attended.
