Overview:

Morupule Coal Mine is seeking a skilled Artisan – Auto Mechanic to perform the installation, maintenance, repairs, and modifications of equipment within the auto mechanics trade. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of mobile equipment through preventative and corrective maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities:

-Maintain and repair mobile equipment using appropriate maintenance technologies.

-Verify the planned maintenance schedule and recommend necessary adjustments.

-Perform inspections and diagnostics to identify and address mechanical faults.

-Assess the requirements for spares, labor, tools, and time and communicate with the supervisor.

-Carry out scheduled and non-scheduled installations, repairs, and overhauls according to engineering standards.

-Provide feedback to ensure that maintenance history is accurately recorded.

-Obtain necessary permits and conduct risk assessments before performing any work.

-Assist in the development of work schedules for maintenance tasks.

-Complete administrative documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

-Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures in the workplace.

-Identify and implement efficiency improvements within the department.

-Recommend and incorporate cost-saving initiatives into the department’s budget.

Requirements:

• Education: O’level/BGCSE plus National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Auto Mechanics or equivalent qualification.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in auto mechanics, OR
  • Successful completion of the Artisan Development Program (ADP) in the relevant trade.
• Other Requirements:
  • Valid Class B Driver’s License.
  • Understanding of SHE Management Systems, including ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015.
  • Medically and physically fit to work in an underground coal mining environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding schedules.
