Overview:
Kanye District Council invites applications from Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs employees only for the position of Principal Community Development Officer I. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the Community Development Division to enhance service delivery and community empowerment.
Salary Scale:
- D2 (P337,008.00 – P371,628.00) per annum
Leave Entitlement:
- 30 working days per annum
Qualifications:
- Degree in Community Development or a related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience
- At least 2 years must have been served as Principal Community Development Officer II at D3 salary scale
Benefits:
- Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme: Government pays 50%, Employee pays 50%
- Contributory Pension Fund Scheme: Government contributes 15%, Employee contributes 5% of basic salary
Main Purpose of the Job:
To manage, direct, and supervise the Community Development Division.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide professional direction in planning, executing, and supervising community development duties
-Prepare budgets and monitor divisional expenditures
-Act as deputy to the Head of Department
-Review operational plans to optimize resource utilization
-Interpret policies and guidelines for community development programs
-Review performance and development plans of supervisees
-Manage community development projects to ensure alignment with objectives
-Design and implement programs to improve livelihoods across communities
-Engage in poverty alleviation activities at community and national level
-Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders for integrated community development
-Undertake any other duties assigned by management
