Position: Temporary Assistant Land Use Officer – C3 (x2 Positions)
Location: Ngwato Land Board – Serowe and Letlhakane Sub Land Boards
Closing Date: 25 April 2025
Overview:
The Assistant Land Use Officer will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of integrated land use plans at the sub-district level. The incumbent will provide technical advice and planning support to local authorities, ministries, and the community, ensuring proper land allocation and usage in accordance with government policies.
Responsibilities:
-Advise the public on appeals and queries related to Land Board Use.
-Guide local authorities and stakeholders on land allocation procedures.
-Conduct public education on land-related matters.
-Identify land required for government use.
-Serve as liaison between the division and Sub Land Boards.
-Monitor and oversee land allocation implementation.
-Collect and coordinate spatial and attribute data for planning purposes.
-Maintain and update the Sub-District land resources database.
-Detect and report changes in land use and zoning.
-Prepare land use and management plans.
-Identify land use projects for planning initiatives.
-Report illegal land occupation and advise on corrective action.
-Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills:
- Qualifications: Degree in Environmental Science, Land Use Planning, Land Management/Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and spatial reasoning
- Good communication and public engagement skills
- Ability to work with GIS or planning tools (advantageous)
