Overview:
The Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education (Chobe Region) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Temporary Assistant Teacher in Primary and Secondary Schools. The role aims to support teaching and learning processes in schools based in the Chobe Region.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- Diploma/Degree in Primary Education
- Diploma/Degree in Secondary Education (Various Subjects)
- Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education
Note: Applicants without a teaching qualification will not be considered.
Salary Scale:
- Diploma holders: C4 (P108,444.00 – P123,420.00 per annum)
- Degree holders: C3 (P127,092.00 – P150,852.00 per annum)

Main Responsibilities:
- Teach in Primary or Secondary Schools as per the prescribed curriculum
- Provide learner guidance and counselling
- Participate in teaching, assessment, and extra-curricular activities
- Maintain learner records and academic results
- Implement learning strategies and support effective lesson delivery
Contract Details:
- Initial appointment will be for three (3) months or more, depending on each school’s requirements
