Overview

Kgatleng District Council invites applications from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Temporary Bye-Law Enforcement Assistant. This role plays a critical function in enforcing council bye-laws and delegated legislation to promote compliance and good governance in the district.


Key Responsibilities

-Investigate cases involving violations of bye-laws and delegated legislation and take appropriate action.

-Conduct inspections of the formal business sector with the intent to enforce relevant regulations.

-Search suspects and/or premises with or without warrants as required.

-Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies in joint operations.

-Conduct routine patrols to monitor compliance within the district.

-Serve legal documents such as summonses, subpoenas, and eviction orders.

-Organize and participate in Kgotla meetings to educate the community on bye-laws and legislation.

-Perform any additional duties assigned by management.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Qualification: Certificate in Law or Criminal Justice.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.
  • Skills Required:
    • Strong communication and investigative skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Understanding of legal processes and local governance.
