Overview:

The Department of National Museum & Monuments invites applications from qualified Batswana for two (2) Temporary Field Assistant positions under the 100 Monuments Ipelegeng Project. This initiative supports heritage site management while offering temporary employment for poverty relief.


Main Purpose of the Job:

To assist with the conservation, maintenance, and management of heritage sites by guiding visitors, supporting archaeological programs, and ensuring that site infrastructure remains clean, functional, and visitor-ready.


Key Duties:

-Participate in general archaeological research programs

-Facilitate visiting researchers and coordinate with local communities

-Assist with archaeological displays and artifacts for the National Museum and partners

-Maintain public use areas within heritage sites

-Guide visitors and keep accurate visitation records

-Submit monthly visitor statistics reports

-Ensure cleanliness and functional campsite facilities

-Perform any other duties as assigned by management


Minimum Requirements:

Qualification: BGCSE

Experience: None required

-Strong interest in history, archaeology, or cultural heritage

-Physically fit and willing to work in outdoor environments

-Good communication and interpersonal skills
