Overview

Eskom’s Camden Power Station is offering a Learning Programme for eight (8) aspiring Plant Operators. This opportunity is open to both internal and external candidates, offering a pathway to gain valuable skills through a combination of institutional training and hands-on experience. Successful candidates will be placed across various Eskom divisions following the completion of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in structured, institutionalized learning combined with practical, on-the-job training to develop the skills required for a Plant Operator role.
  • Engage in relevant tasks under supervision to enhance technical and operational expertise.
  • Follow the guidelines and training plans provided by the company to ensure full understanding of operational procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education:
    • Candidates with one of the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
      • National N6 Certificate with Trade Subjects, or
      • National Diploma / BTech / BEng / BSc Eng (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Electronics)
      • National N4/N5 Certificate with Trade Subjects
      • Grade 12 with a minimum of:
        • 50% in Mathematics
        • 50% in Physical Science
        • 40% in English
      • N3 with a minimum of:
        • 50% in Mathematics
        • 50% in Science
        • 40% in English
      • NCV Level 4 with a minimum of:
        • 50% in Mathematics
        • 50% in Science
        • 40% in English
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.

Skills and Competencies

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to liaise and collaborate with various stakeholders.
