Library Positions (Three-Year Fixed-Term Contracts)

1. Library Assistant (7 Posts)

Governance and Support Position

Governance and Support Officer

  • Salary Range:
    • Minimum: R2,219,302
    • Midpoint: R2,809,244
    • Maximum: R3,399,184 per annum
      (Remuneration will be determined by competencies, qualifications, experience, and knowledge.)

Job Purpose:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Governance and Support Service Cluster in accordance with the City Manager’s directives, national standards, and legislated responsibilities.

Application Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Management, Political Science, Social Science, Law, or a related field (Master’s in Management Science is an added advantage)
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience, including at least 5 years at a senior management level
  • Proven experience in institutional transformation in the public or private sector
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, governance systems, audit and risk management, and financial management
  • Ability to make strategic, high-risk decisions; must have no criminal record (except political-related under the previous dispensation) and be willing to undergo security vetting and a competency assessment
  • Computer literacy is essential
