Overview

The Okavango District Council invites applications from suitably qualified residents of the villages listed above for the position of Cleaner II, responsible for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness within council schools and offices.


Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Scale: A2 (P36,444 – P42,024 per annum)
  • Leave: 20 working days per annum
  • Age Limit: 18 – 45 years
  • Benefits:
    • Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15%, Employee 5%)
    • Optional Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 80%, Employee 20%)

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualification: PSLE or Junior Certificate

Experience: No prior experience required (training provided)

Residency: Applicants must be residents of the respective villages (proof from Village Chief required).


Main Purpose of the Job

To provide cleaning and maintenance services in Council schools and offices, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and organized environment.


Duties

-Clean administration offices, furniture, classrooms, toilets, and auxiliary rooms daily.

-Wash and iron school linen.

-Ensure safe storage and availability of cleaning materials; report shortages to the supervisor.

-Prepare and organize venues for meetings.

-Serve tea during meetings when required.

-Secure windows, doors, and utilities before leaving.

-Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
