LEC is seeking a qualified and experienced Credit Control Manager to join the Customer Experience Division on a five-year performance-based contract.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Head of Customer Experience, the Credit Control Manager will oversee credit management, debt recovery, and collections processes to ensure positive cash flow and minimize financial risks. The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals while developing and implementing credit control policies in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Management
- Develop and enforce credit control policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and approve customer credit applications, ensuring compliance with risk thresholds.
- Monitor and manage the company’s credit portfolio to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Proactively identify and address credit risks to minimize default rates.
Debt Recovery
- Oversee the collection of outstanding debts to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Implement strategies to reduce aged debt and minimize bad debt write-offs.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on credit control and collections performance, including metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and bad debt ratios.
- Analyze customer payment trends and recommend improvements to credit control processes.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the credit control team to ensure optimal performance.
- Set performance targets and monitor team progress regularly.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to facilitate prompt payments.
- Resolve disputes efficiently while maintaining customer satisfaction and protecting company interests.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Professional certification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years in credit control, collections, or revenue management.
- Minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
