Overview

CTP Printing & Packaging Cape Town, through its Boxes For Africa division, is seeking a skilled and reliable Code 10 Driver to join our team. Reporting directly to the Despatch Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring timely, efficient, and safe deliveries to our clients in the corrugated packaging industry.

Key Responsibilities

–Route Planning: Plan driving routes in advance for efficient, on-time deliveries.

–Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain vehicle cleanliness and adhere to safety standards; schedule and follow up on regular service appointments.

–Load Verification: Verify delivery loads against documentation before departure, ensuring accuracy and proper load securing.

–Navigation: Use appropriate tools to select optimal routes, adjusting for traffic or construction when necessary.

–Client Interaction: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients during deliveries, demonstrating professionalism at all times.

  • Record Keeping:
    • Keep the driver log sheet up to date and report vehicle issues promptly.
    • Document pallet returns from clients in the return book.
    • Participate in periodic stocktakes.
  • Compliance & Conduct:
    • Adhere to speed limits, traffic regulations, and company policies.
    • Follow Boxes For Africa’s Code of Conduct and assigned routes without deviation.
    • Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies and uphold safety standards on client premises.
    • Avoid personal business during working hours.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of professional driving experience.
  • Licensing: Valid Code 10 Driver’s License and a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong route planning and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and adherence to safety protocols.
