What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications, and skill sets:

License: Code 10 license.

Certification: Professional Driving Permit (PDP) essential.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position.
    • Experience in school bus driving is highly recommended.
  • Skills:
    • Presentable with good communication skills.
    • A clear criminal record.

Responsibilities

Learner Transportation

-Drive a school transportation vehicle within prescribed routes according to time schedules.

-Pick up and discharge students at designated stops.

-Transport students and teachers on field trips, planning necessary routes and stops.

-Maintain order and proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy.

General Worker Duties

  • Maintenance:
    • Perform general maintenance and facility support.
    • Receive and address requests for maintenance of facilities.
    • Check facilities daily to ensure everything is functioning and maintained.
    • Complete necessary repairs, such as plumbing, and inform the facilities manager of any additional repair requirements.
    • Maintain tools and consumables for maintenance.
  • Garden Maintenance:
    • Maintain grass and flower beds, and ensure the garden is clean and well-kept.
    • Advise the facilities manager on garden requirements and maintain gardening tools.
  • Security and Access Control:
    • Provide support for security and access control across the facilities.
    • Assist with traffic management.

Health and Safety

-Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of the assigned vehicle.

-Report needed mechanical repairs.

-Service buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; check and fill tires and batteries as necessary.

-Perform periodical safety drills and complete required reports.

-Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle to ensure safe operating conditions.

-Attend safety, first aid, and training update meetings as required.

Record Keeping

  • Complete periodic mileage and other reports, including passenger counts.
