Responsibilities
Learner Transportation:
-Drive a school bus on prescribed routes according to time schedules.
-Pick up and drop off students at designated stops.
-Transport students and teachers on field trips, planning necessary routes and stops.
-Maintain order and discipline among student passengers in accordance with district policy.
General Worker Duties:
-Perform general maintenance and facility support.
-Respond to maintenance requests and ensure facilities are in working order.
-Conduct plumbing and other maintenance tasks as needed.
-Inform the facilities manager of any required repairs.
-Maintain tools and ensure the availability of maintenance consumables.
-Provide general support for security, access control, and traffic management.
-Perform garden maintenance, including maintaining grass and flower beds.
-Communicate gardening needs to the facilities manager and maintain gardening tools.
Health and Safety:
-Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of the assigned vehicle.
-Report mechanical repairs when necessary.
-Service buses with fuel, oil, and other essentials; check tires and batteries.
-Perform periodic safety drills as required by law and complete necessary reports.
-Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
-Attend safety, first aid, and training meetings as required.
Record Keeping:
- Complete periodic mileage and other reports, including passenger counts.
Requirements
-Valid Code 10 driver’s license.
-Professional Driving Permit (PDP) essential.
-Experience in school bus driving is highly recommended.
-Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position.
-Presentable with good communication skills.
-Clear criminal record.
