Overview
Curro Durbanville is seeking a qualified Bus Driver to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the safety and smooth operation of our educational environment. Responsibilities
-Operate a school bus along designated routes, adhering to scheduled times.
-Safely pick up and drop off students at assigned locations.
-Transport students and staff to various destinations for field trips, planning routes and stops as needed.
-Ensure the safety and discipline of student passengers in accordance with school policies.
-Assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of school facilities.
-Respond to maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs, including plumbing and general maintenance tasks.
- Inspect facilities daily to ensure all systems are functioning properly.
- Inform the facilities manager of any required repairs or maintenance needs.
- Maintain tools and equipment used for maintenance and gardening.
- Support security measures and traffic management across the school premises.
- Carry out garden maintenance, including lawn care and tending to flower beds.
Health and Safety:
- Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of the assigned vehicle.
- Report any mechanical issues and ensure timely repairs.
- Service the bus with fuel, oil, and other necessary fluids; check and maintain tires and batteries.
- Participate in safety drills and attend meetings related to safety, first aid, and training updates.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good operating condition.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, passenger counts, and other relevant information.
Requirements
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, with school bus driving experience highly recommended.
- Strong communication skills and a presentable appearance.
- A clear criminal record.
