Overview
Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine (Pty) Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Assore Limited, is a leading producer of Chrome Ore based in the Limpopo Province, approximately 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort. We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Laboratory Operator to join our Plant & Logistics Laboratory division, reporting to the Laboratory Analyst or a designated nominee.
Responsibilities
-Collect, prepare, and test samples in support of plant optimization and product quality assurance to meet customer requirements.
-Accurately gather samples from various sampling points, including sample cutters, stockpiles, dispatch trucks, and other designated locations, and transport them to the laboratory.
-Prepare samples for analysis using analytical instruments, following the required turnaround times.
-Assist the analyst in sample preparation by weighing, fusing, and leeching samples using the necessary analytical tools and techniques.
- Perform analyses on samples using analytical equipment, and report results to the supervisor in the prescribed format to help optimize plant control processes.
- Verify the accuracy of the moisture analyzer, sieve masters, and ovens by following prescribed procedures, recording results, and making recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct mini-efficiency tests using sieves to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Perform pH readings and make necessary adjustments by adding solutions as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Standard 10) Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science.
Experience
- 6 months to 1 year of practical experience working in a metallurgical or sampling laboratory.
