Overview:
Efficient Engineering Pty Ltd seeks a Roll Operator to join our team in Elandsfontein. As a Roll Operator, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process, operating rolling machines and equipment to shape and form steel materials according to precise specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality engineered products within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate rolling machines and equipment to perform forming operations on various grades and thicknesses of steel.
- Set up and adjust machine settings to achieve desired dimensions and specifications for the finished product.
- Source material from the Stock Yard and utilize appropriate measuring tools for accurate markings.
- Ensure correct use of Overhead Crane during rolling operations.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance and identify any issues affecting production or safety.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and assist with minor repairs or adjustments to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or materials.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and meet production targets.
- Assist with Boilermaking and other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Additional technical training or certification in machining or manufacturing processes preferred.
- Proven experience as a roll operator or similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficiency in operating rolling machines and equipment, with a strong understanding of rolling processes and techniques.
- Attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Proficiency in Overhead Crane operation and knowledge of steel grades and behavior when forming.
