Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified Heavy Duty Driver (Reliever) to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will ensure timely and safe delivery of explosives, adhering to all relevant regulations and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Deliver explosives to customers within the allocated time slots.
- Safely execute the delivery process in compliance with public traffic and CIE regulations (80 km/h speed limit).
- Coordinate and execute the offloading process.
- Verify that explosives seals are intact and match delivery documents.
- Sign and return delivery documents.
- Assist customers with the offloading of products.
- Complete a full vehicle inspection sheet before departing the Magazine area daily.
- Maintain valid vehicle licenses and explosives operator’s card.
- Ensure fire extinguishers are compliant.
- Return proof of delivery to the Administration office for customer invoicing.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Mandatory)
- License: Valid Code 14 Driver’s License (Mandatory)
- Permit: Valid Dangerous Goods Permit
- Testing: Must be prepared to undergo psychomotor testing
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience, preferably within the supply chain explosives environment.
- Proven experience in handling explosives products and emergency processes (Hazchem).
