Job Title: Junior Firefighter

The Fidelity Group is seeking Junior Firefighters to respond to fire-related incidents and emergencies. The role involves firefighting, emergency rescue services, basic medical care, fire prevention, and training. You will operate and maintain firefighting equipment and perform tasks under supervision to safeguard lives and property of our clients.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

-Respond to fires, rescues, and humanitarian incidents under guidance and supervision.

-Handle incidents involving hazardous substances.

-Extricate or release casualties and conduct emergency operations as instructed.

-Provide resuscitation and medical treatment under supervision.

-Operate equipment to control and extinguish fires.

-Use mobile and fixed breathing apparatus during fire incidents.

  • Undertake fire protection duties and ensure readiness of appropriate equipment.
  • Prepare for emergency incidents and fire protection tasks under supervision.
  • Participate in training drills, simulations, and physical fitness activities.
  • Train employees on fire prevention and firefighting techniques.
  • Provide advice on preventive actions and conduct safety inspections.
  • Implement safety procedures and strategies to protect data, people, institutions, and property.
  • Perform maintenance on firefighting equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Check, clean, test, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete incident logs to maintain accurate records of daily activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum educational qualification: Grade 12.
  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s license (advanced driving experience is a plus).
  • Must be medically and physically fit.
  • Good knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting systems (including fire classes and chemistry).
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hazmat experience and knowledge.
  • EMT certification and First Aid Levels 1, 2, and 3.

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Hazmat guidelines.
  • Familiarity with the Security Industry’s code of conduct and regulations.
  • Knowledge of firefighter instructor applications within an operational setting.
