Overview
Freightmore Johannesburg Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Code 14 Driver to join our team in Chloorkop, Gauteng. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, particularly Volvo and Scania models.
- Assist drivers with safe reversing procedures.
- Maintain communication with zone controllers via cell phone.
- Ensure both the interior and exterior of the vehicle are kept clean.
- Keep tools and equipment clean and properly stored.
- Report any losses, damages, or discrepancies regarding cargo, equipment, and paperwork.
- Interact politely and pleasantly with clients.
Requirements
- Matric certificate.
- Proficiency in at least two official languages.
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PrDP.
- Minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
- No criminal record.
- Professional appearance and adherence to PPE standards.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Own transport is advantageous; company transport is provided as legislatively required.
- Basic computer skills are advantageous.
- Own a functional cell phone.
- Approximately 5 years of freight experience is advantageous.
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment polygraph test.
- At least 2 contactable references.
