Overview:
Fuel Majestic (PTY) LTD, a leading fuel logistics company specializing in cross-border fuel transportation, is seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join its dynamic team. This role requires a proactive individual to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while promoting a safe work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
–Education: Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or a related qualification from a recognized institution.
–Experience: Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience as a SHE officer. Experience in transport logistics is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance and Monitoring:
- Ensure adherence to SQAS regulations related to transportation and workplace safety.
- Monitor driver qualification files and oversee the hiring and selection process.
- Review hours-of-service records for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure the drug and alcohol program meets regulatory standards.
- Driver and Vehicle Management:
- Conduct and update training programs for drivers, including transportation of dangerous goods, load securement, and driving principles.
- Ensure hands-on vehicle inspection training for all active drivers.
- Monitor and maintain daily driver truck inspections and implement toolbox talks.
- Liaise with driver trainers and oversee driver training manuals and maintenance programs.
- Safety Training and Site Management:
- Deliver training in First Aid, Working at Heights, Firefighting, and Dangerous Goods.
- Conduct yard safety checks and customer site inspections.
- Act as the safety trainer and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
- Record Management:
- Maintain and update driver files, medical records, fire permits, and related documentation.
- Oversee diesel management, including procurement, security, and policy implementation.
