Overview

An established FMCG manufacturer in Amanzimtoti is seeking a General Worker to support daily operations through cleaning, basic material handling, and adherence to strict food safety, health, and environmental standards. The role suits a reliable self-starter with high energy who takes accountability, follows procedures, and maintains excellent housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities

-Execute daily cleaning schedules across designated areas as allocated by the Supervisor.

-Collect dirty PPE/overalls from change rooms and deliver to the laundry.

-Dispose of reject soft drinks in the designated dumping bay in line with quality standards.

-Uphold Good Housekeeping Practices (GHP) and ensure work does not endanger people, equipment, or property.

-Assist with safe loading/unloading and storage of products within demarcated green/red/yellow areas.

-Complete required quality and hygiene checks; support paperwork control as directed.

-Follow work instructions, SOPs, business rules, and maintain expected performance standards.

-Attend prescribed training and apply learnings for Quality, Food Safety, and Health & Safety.

-Remain vigilant to food defence and food fraud risks; implement control measures.

-Any reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by supervision/management.

Requirements & Skills

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric / NQF 4 (Essential).
  • Experience: Up to 3 years operational experience in FMCG (advantageous).
  • Knowledge & Compliance:
    • Food Safety Policies, PRPs, GMPs, Physical Contamination Control.
    • Health, Safety & Environmental standards; First Aid and incident reporting awareness.
    • Visitor/Contractor control (sign-in, escorting, PPE, hygiene compliance).
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Routine verbal communication; follows instructions accurately.
    • Problem-solving within set procedures; escalates when required.
    • High energy, able to work under pressure; β€œcomplete today’s work today.”
    • Team collaboration; meets commitments and shares information.
    • Accountability for outputs and adherence to performance standards.

  • Salary: ZAR 80,000 – ZAR 85,000 per annum.
