Internship Programme 2025/2027

Location: Pretoria and Cape Town

Overview

The Presidency is inviting applications for its Internship Programme 2025/2027. This programme aims to provide unemployed South African graduates/postgraduates under 35 years of age with valuable work experience in various fields. The internships will be based in Pretoria and Cape Town, and successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend based on their qualification level:

  • R7,450.63 (National Diploma/Bachelor’s/Honours Degree)
  • R8,987.83 (Master’s Degree)

Fields of Study

Applicants must hold a qualification in one of the following areas:

  • Social Sciences/Sociology
  • BCom Economics
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Research/Public Policy/Development Studies (with Research as a major)
  • Development Studies/Public Administration/Political Studies
  • Media Studies/Communications/Public Relations/Creative Writing
  • Digital Communication and Social Media
  • Statistics/Town and Regional Planning
  • Public Administration/Business Administration/Public Management
  • Records Management/Risk Management/Auditing/Internal Auditing
  • Law/LLB
  • Financial Accounting/Cost and Management Accounting/Financial Management
  • Supply Chain Management/International Relations
  • Information Technology (Software Development/Information Systems/Web and Application Development)
  • Occupational Health and Safety/Environmental/Risk Management/Security Management
  • Architecture

Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen under the age of 35.
  • Must hold a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in the fields listed above.
  • Applicants should not have been previously employed under any internship programme.
  • Willingness to secure own accommodation in Pretoria or Cape Town.

Application Process

  • Submit applications using the Z83 form, accompanied by a detailed CV.
  • If applicable, foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
  • Ensure each application references only one field of study. Separate applications are required for each field of study.
