Job Overview
Southern Oil is seeking a reliable and professional Code 14 Driver to join its team in Swellendam. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods using heavy-duty vehicles (28 tons and above) while upholding SOILL’s values and maintaining exceptional client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to clients.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and report vehicle issues promptly.
- Ensure offloading equipment is available and functional.
- Complete and maintain delivery documentation, trip sheets, and checklists.
- Keep the truck clean and compliant with food safety standards.
- Secure and cover loads properly according to delivery requirements.
- Maintain professional client interaction and uphold SOILL’s image.
- Assist in warehouse tasks such as stock rotation, housekeeping, and loading/unloading.
- Comply with all safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
Health & Safety Duties
- Participate in SOILL safety meetings, talks, and related activities.
- Report incidents and follow up on assigned safety actions.
- Comply with safety regulations and wear PPE as required.
- Promote a culture of safety by distributing and adhering to safety information and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid Code 14 (EC) Driver’s Licence with a valid PDP
- Minimum 2 years’ experience driving Code 14 vehicles
- Forklift licence (advantageous)
- Clean driving and criminal record
