Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring Retail Store Assistants across its various stores nationwide, including a new store opening at Newcastle Mall. This is an excellent opportunity for customer-focused individuals with strong retail and administrative skills. The role supports overall store management and ensures efficient day-to-day operations, in line with Dis-Chemโs policies and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
-Handle and report customer compliments and complaints
-Build professional relationships with customers
-Resolve customer stock and service queries efficiently
-Perform point-of-sale duties, including managing refunds, returns, and shortages
-Process and verify store deliveries and invoices
-Assist with Distribution Centre claims and high-risk stock control
-Reconcile cash runs and ensure cashier float accuracy
-Prepare and manage branch change requirements
-Maintain proper document control including float, petty cash, and cash on hand
-Liaise effectively with relevant departments to ensure operational efficiency
Minimum Requirements
-Matric / Grade 12
-Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP)
-Previous experience in a retail environment
-Strong administrative and stock control knowledge
