Overview
Pick n Pay is seeking over 20 reliable and food safety-conscious General Workers to support our Cheese Departments across stores nationwide. In this role, you’ll ensure the safe handling, presentation, and replenishment of a variety of cheese products while offering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
-Unpack, display, and rotate cheese products according to FIFO (First In, First Out) principles
-Cut, weigh, and package cheese as per customer or store requirements
-Maintain cold chain and hygiene standards in refrigerated display areas
-Check stock quality and remove expired or damaged items
-Ensure correct pricing, labelling, and promotional signage
-Assist customers with product knowledge and selections
-Clean equipment, surfaces, and work areas regularly
-Prevent shrinkage, damage, and wastage through proper handling
-Report low stock levels and product issues to the supervisor
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 (Grade 12 advantageous)
- Willing to work in cold storage environments
- Physically fit and able to lift stock
- Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Food handling experience is advantageous
