Overview
Hollywoodbets, South Africaโs leading betting brand, is looking for 6 enthusiastic and energetic General Assistants to join their Purple Team at the Greyville branch in Durban. This casual role supports the kitchen and operations teams in delivering high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist chefs with basic food preparation and presentation.
-Maintain hygienic and sanitary standards in line with food safety guidelines.
-Monitor and manage kitchen stock, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
-Report operational issues, such as faulty equipment or low stock levels.
-Clean kitchen appliances, surfaces, fridges, freezers, and other areas consistently.
-Ensure the kitchen is organized, tidy, and ready for the next shift.
-Handle leftover food and expired items according to company standards.
-Participate in receiving stock and disclosing breakages or wastage.
-Support the kitchen team with ad hoc duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements
-No formal work experience required; however, food and beverage experience is advantageous.
-Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
-Able to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and lifting.
