Overview
PG Building Glass (PGBG), part of PG Group and Southern Africaโs leading distributor of float, mirror and PG SmartGlassยฎ products, is seeking a professional Truck Driver to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused deliveries. The role requires disciplined trip documentation, strict adherence to safety standards, and proactive vehicle care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver glass products to and from customers efficiently and safely.
- Complete daily trip sheets, quality check sheets, and all delivery paperwork accurately.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections; report faults immediately and maintain vehicle cleanliness (inside and out).
- Assist with loading and offloading, ensuring safe handling at all times.
- Build effective working relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Follow work instructions, SOPs, and business rules; uphold environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Work overtime, weekends, and participate in shift rotations when required.
- Carry out reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Factory Services Manager.
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Code 10 or higher driverโs licence with PrDP.
- High energy with the ability to work in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (customer facing).
- Proven analytical and numerical abilities; accurate record-keeping.
- Honest, trustworthy, self-motivated, and able to โcomplete todayโs work today.โ
- Sound knowledge of road networks in the delivery area.
Advantageous Experience
- Handling and moving dangerous goods.
- Experience with various glass products.
- Reading drawings and production orders.
- Glass handling and quality control.
- At least 2 yearsโ driving experience in a similar role.
