Overview
We are seeking three reliable and enthusiastic Soup Truck Drivers to join our growing team. The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting and delivering freshly prepared soups to communities, ensuring safe and timely delivery, while also providing excellent customer service. This is an opportunity for passionate drivers who enjoy engaging with people and being part of a food service initiative that makes a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving & Delivery:
- Operate the soup truck safely and efficiently.
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all food transport and safety regulations.
- Customer Service:
- Interact positively with customers at delivery points.
- Handle inquiries and concerns professionally to ensure a great customer experience.
- Truck Maintenance:
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Perform basic maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in loading/unloading supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all road traffic regulations.
- Follow strict health and hygiene standards for food handling.
Requirements & Skills
- Education: Minimum Grade 10.
- Experience: Previous driving or food delivery experience is preferred but not essential.
- Licences: Valid Code 10 driverโs licence with a clean record (PDP advantageous).
- Skills:
- Excellent driving knowledge of local roads.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Basic numeracy skills for managing invoices and cash.
- Physical: Ability to lift heavy items and work in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work weekends when required.
Placement
Drivers will be allocated to Alexandra, Protea Glen (Johannesburg), or Mpumalanga Region depending on operational needs.
