Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring eight (8) Store Cleaners to uphold world-class hygiene standards across sales floors, stockrooms, dispensaries, admin areas, canteens, and restrooms. If you’re reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-friendly, this is a great entry point into retail with full on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

-Deliver a daily high standard of cleanliness throughout the store and communal areas (often before trading).

-Clean and sanitise restrooms, canteen and high-touch surfaces; ensure essentials are replenished.

-Maintain stockrooms/dispensary/admin areas to Dis-Chem hygiene standards.

-Be available during trading hours for clean-ups as needed; set out wet floor signage appropriately.

-Use the correct cleaning products/equipment for each task; care for tools and report defects.

-Follow Health & Safety regulations and store SOPs; complete basic checklists.

-Present a friendly, professional demeanour and assist customers where appropriate.

Requirements & Skills

–Education: Grade 12 / Matric (preferred).

–Experience: No experience required – training will be provided.

–Language: Sound command of English; an additional local language is advantageous.

–Capabilities: Trustworthy, presentable, attentive to detail, able to follow instructions and manage time.

–Physical: Able to walk/stand for long periods; bend, kneel, climb; push/pull/lift and move objects.

–Availability: Willing and able to work retail hours, weekends and public holidays.

–General: Reliable transport and/or live near the store; SA citizen; clear credit and criminal record.
