Overview
The Botswana Defence Force is recruiting a qualified Craftsman II to provide bricklaying and plastering services for maintenance and construction projects across BDF installations. The successful candidate will ensure that construction and repair work aligns with safety and quality standards.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Scale: B4 (P57,348 โ P65,424 per annum)
- Leave: 20 working days per annum
- Benefits Include:
- Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50%)
- Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15%; employee pays 5%)
- Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P398.80 per month
Key Responsibilities
-Undertake routine bricklaying and maintenance activities.
-Provide preventive and emergency masonry services.
-Maintain masonry tools and materials.
-Follow site safety standards and perform inspections.
-Assist in preparing specifications for construction quality.
-Supervise and guide junior technical staff and Craft Improvers.
-Report and recommend improvements to existing masonry structures.
Minimum Requirements
-Trade Test B in Bricklaying and Plastering or equivalent qualification.
-Minimum of two (2) yearsโ experience at A1 salary scale as a Craft Improver or equivalent role.
