Overview
The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality invites suitably qualified and physically capable individuals to apply for General Worker positions (a total of 28 posts) within the Roads and Storm Water Department.
These roles provide essential physical support services to teams responsible for road construction, storm water management, and related maintenance work across various Tshwane regions.
Key Purpose
To perform manual labour and assist work teams with the construction, maintenance, and repair of municipal roads, storm water systems, and associated infrastructure.
Minimum Requirements
-Basic literacy (able to read and write).
-Proven ability to perform manual labour and physical tasks.
–Relevant experience in road construction or maintenance will be an advantage.
–Physically fit and healthy to perform strenuous outdoor tasks.
-Willing to undergo a criminal record check (fingerprints taken at own cost by the Tshwane Metro Police Department).
-Willingness and ability to work overtime, weekends, or after hours when required.

Duties & Responsibilities
-Assist in building, maintaining, and repairing roads and storm water systems.
-Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
-Perform general maintenance and site clean-up duties.
-Support the technical team in laying pipes, constructing pavements, and applying road surfaces.
-Operate basic hand tools and assist with equipment handling.
-Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and supervisor instructions.
