Overview

Sasol is seeking a reliable and safety-focused General Worker Gr 1 R&T to join the Research & Technology team in Sasolburg. The role provides logistical support through equipment preparation, loading and offloading assistance, and maintaining high housekeeping standards across plant areas. The successful candidate will operate under direct supervision while adhering to strict safety and operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

– Assist with preparation of equipment for loading and unloading of products and chemicals.
– Maintain cleanliness of plant areas, benches, floors, PPE and glassware as per routine schedules.
– Safely handle, store, stack and transport chemicals, gas cylinders and materials.
– Participate in safety practices, including PPE use, inspections, emergency preparedness, and IMS/BAPP observations.
– Load and offload vehicles and ensure neatness of assigned areas.
– Support discipline-specific tasks and deliver messages or parcels when required.
– Use hand tools and equipment safely and correctly; perform ad hoc duties as instructed.

Minimum Requirements

– Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
– Minimum 1 year relevant working experience.
– Code EC1 driving licence (essential).
– Forklift licence (advantageous).
– Ability to follow safety procedures and operational instructions.
– Strong attention to detail, task planning ability, and effective communication skills.
