Job Opportunity:

Sasol Mining is recruiting General Workers for a 4-month Upskilling Programme aimed at developing operational capability within mining environments. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who meet the minimum education requirements and are eager to grow their technical and safety-related skills in a world-class mining organisation.


Key Responsibilities:

โ€“ Operate mining-related machinery and equipment within defined parameters to minimise waste and optimise production.
โ€“ Apply and maintain safety standards in the working environment at all times.
โ€“ Perform daily tasks according to operational planning and instructions.
โ€“ Participate in morning meetings to discuss work assignments and progress.
โ€“ Provide accurate feedback to supervisors and customers regarding work status.
โ€“ Maintain good housekeeping and follow waste disposal procedures.
โ€“ Identify equipment faults using correct diagnostic methods to support equipment availability.
โ€“ Attend training sessions and courses as per the training matrix to improve competencies.
โ€“ Identify personal development needs and include them in the Personal Development Plan (PDP).
โ€“ Support business objectives by meeting deadlines and contributing to plant reliability.
โ€“ Conduct plant inspections, repairs, and My IMS inspections to improve sustainability and safety.
โ€“ Capture accurate equipment history to support future renewals, upgrades, and critical spares planning.
โ€“ Participate actively in toolbox talks, PDAs, and RCAs to improve plant safety and performance.
โ€“ Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within own work area.


Minimum Requirements:

โ€“ Completed Matric / Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent.
โ€“ Mining underground experience (advantageous but not mandatory).
โ€“ Ability to work safely and follow strict operational standards.
โ€“ Physically fit to perform duties within a mining environment.
โ€“ Willingness to learn and participate in structured upskilling activities.
