Overview:
MMG-Khoemacau Copper Mining is seeking a qualified and motivated Metallurgist to join our Process Plant team. The role is focused on process optimisation, cost reduction, and technical support within a dynamic mining environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing small-scale projects while ensuring technical excellence and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
-Supervise activities that enhance metallurgical efficiency in the processing plant.
-Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting reports.
-Develop and coordinate test work programmes; implement findings to improve plant performance.
-Monitor and optimise the use of reagents and consumables.
-Compile, analyse, and interpret statistical data for reporting and metal accounting.
-Conduct routine inspections and schedule audits of the process plant.
-Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions when necessary.
-Ensure quality control for crushing, milling, and flotation to meet recovery targets.
Requirements and Skills:
-Bachelorโs degree in Minerals Processing Engineering, Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering.
-Minimum 4 years of mining industry experience in a concentrator plant, including 2 years at Graduate Metallurgist level.
-Practical experience in metallurgical accounting and lab operations.
-Proven experience in base metal processing.
-Strong background in metallurgical analysis.
-Solid analytical and statistical abilities to identify improvement opportunities and monitor quality trends.
