Overview
This role is responsible for operating and maintaining the packaging process to ensure consistent product quality, maximum efficiency, and minimal waste. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Process Operation
-Operate packaging machinery according to SOPs.
-Start-up, shut-down, and run machines safely and efficiently.
-Manage waste and ensure compliance with waste-reduction standards.
Brand & Pack Changes
-Perform changeovers for different product types and packaging formats.
-Ensure accuracy and speed during line changes.
Safety, Cleaning & Maintenance
-Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free working area.
-Conduct in-depth machine cleaning.
-Perform first-level maintenance and report technical issues.
Quality Control
-Conduct routine quality checks according to production standards.
-Monitor process variables and ensure packaging specifications are met.
-Take immediate corrective action when abnormalities occur.
Performance Monitoring
-Track production throughput and efficiency.
-Control production inputs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Teamwork & Communication
-Collaborate effectively with team members, suppliers, and internal customers.
-Participate in problem-solving sessions and support production targets.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Experience within a packaging or production environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to react quickly to operational issues
- Problem-solving mindset
