About the Role
Kumba Iron Ore is seeking a Toolstore Attendant to ensure employees have timely access to the correct tools and spares, while upholding strict safety and operational standards. If you are organised, safety-driven and eager to contribute to a world-class mining operation, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety, Health & Environment
-Use and maintain PPE according to regulations.
-Follow all SHE standards and sign off relevant work instructions.
-Attend mandatory safety meetings and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
-Apply SLAM / HIRA / Mini-HIRA procedures correctly.
-Report safety and health risks immediately.
-Ensure work practices do not endanger others and follow all safety precautions.
2. Tools & Equipment Management
-Ensure all tools are well-maintained, accounted for and in good condition.
-Issue tools and spares according to store procedures.
-Inspect tools for damage/wear and report issues to the supervisor.
-Clean and store tools safely to extend lifespan.
-Escalate for repair or replacement where needed.
3. Stock & Spare Parts Control
-Receive spares from the main store and record them accurately.
-Maintain stock levels and SPI requirements.
-Conduct stock inspections per schedule.
-Issue stock according to KIO policies.
-Track tool issuance and returns for audit and accountability.
4. Documentation & SAP Processing
-Ensure all records are accurate, neat and completed on time.
-Capture documents daily into SAP.
-File documents according to KIO procedures.
-Discuss job card discrepancies with supervisor.
-Complete leave forms and attendance registers.
5. Maintenance Assistance
-Support maintenance teams by ensuring tool availability.
-Assist employees in selecting the correct tools for their tasks.
-Maintain strict security to prevent tool loss/theft.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / N3
- Valid South African Driverโs Licence
- Basic technical knowledge of tools and maintenance
- Understanding of cleaning standards and document control
- Ability to follow safety systems and procedures
