Introduction
The SPAR Group is inviting applications for the 2026/27 Supply Chain Management Learnership (NQF Level 5) at the SPAR North Rand Distribution Centre in Gauteng. This opportunity is aimed at young, unemployed South Africans who are eager to build practical skills and gain workplace experience in the wholesale and retail supply chain sector.
This learnership is ideal for matriculants and entry-level candidates who are not currently studying and want to develop a career in logistics, warehousing, procurement, and distribution within one of South Africaโs leading retail groups.
About the Learnership
Successful learners will be placed at the SPAR North Rand Distribution Centre for a 12-month structured learnership. The programme combines formal training towards a National Certificate: Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 5) with hands-on workplace exposure.
A total of 50 learners will be selected for the 2026/27 intake.
What You Will Learn & Do
During the learnership, participants will gain exposure to key supply chain functions, including:
- Understanding warehouse operations and distribution processes
- Supporting stock control, receiving, dispatching, and inventory management
- Learning the basics of procurement and supplier coordination
- Assisting with logistics planning and distribution workflows
- Applying health, safety, and quality standards in a distribution environment
- Developing workplace discipline, communication, and teamwork skills
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Must have Grade 12 (Matric)
- Must be unemployed at the time of application
- Must not be registered for or studying towards another qualification
- Must be between 18 and 34 years old
- Must be willing to commit to a 12-month learnership programme
Remuneration
- Market-related stipend for the duration of the learnership
