Introduction
The SPAR Group is recruiting a Customer Care Senior Admin Clerk to serve as a central operational hub for retailer support, delivery coordination, and Channel Mobile system reporting within the Western Cape. This senior role is ideal for a customer-focused professional with strong logistics and administrative experience who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
As a senior lead, youโll drive operational efficiency through proactive problem-solving, ensure seamless communication across warehouse and transport networks, and guide a customer care team to uphold a culture of accountability and service excellence.
Role Purpose
To manage and optimise retailer query resolution, delivery issue handling, and system reporting while supervising a customer care team to deliver consistent, high-quality internal and external service.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, analyse, and report on delivery statistics, sharing insights with relevant departments to support continuous improvement
- Monitor overtime, absenteeism, and timekeeping; schedule team coverage for weekends and public holidays
- Conduct regular departmental meetings to align on priorities and performance
- Ensure timeous responses across Channel Mobile and related platforms
- Allocate and delegate administrative tasks to optimise team productivity
- Facilitate effective communication between operations teams and retailers
- Escalate and resolve retailer concerns; support team members in complex customer situations
- Maintain a strong focus on service excellence for both internal and external customers
- Supervise and mentor customer care staff, reinforcing best practices and service standards
- Perform ad hoc operational and administrative duties as required
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate
- Strong reporting and analytical skills
- 3โ4 yearsโ experience in Logistics, Administration, or Customer Service
- Proven supervisory/team-lead experience (or clear readiness to step into leadership)
- Proficiency with AS400 and communication platforms (AgentChat, Email, WhatsApp)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritise and perform under pressure
- A customer-care mindset with a genuine commitment to service excellence
- Demonstrated reliability and attention to detail
