Introduction
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) invites applications from suitably qualified South African citizens for Cleaner positions across national and provincial offices. Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within SAPS facilities.
Job Opportunity
- Role: Cleaner
- Remuneration Level: R 138 486 per annum
- Citizenship: South African citizens only
- Vetting: Mandatory (security screening and fingerprint verification)
Core Functions
– Maintain a high level of hygiene in and around the workplace (interior and exterior areas)
– Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, polishing furniture and floors, and removing refuse
– Mop tiled floors and vacuum carpets
– Clean bathrooms and kitchens
– Safekeeping and correct handling of cleaning materials and equipment
– Load and unload goods when required
– Provide basic garden maintenance services
– Wash and clean state vehicles, kitchenware, and utensils
Requirements & Skills
- Proficiency in at least two official languages (English compulsory)
- Grade 10 qualification (advantage)
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to operate elementary machines and cleaning equipment
- Willingness to work extended hours when required
- No criminal record or pending cases
- Tertiary qualification, relevant short courses, or a valid driverโs licence (advantage)
