Overview
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts & Culture is offering 264 Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) contract positions for Sport and Recreation Mentors as well as Art & Culture Mentors. Successful candidates will contribute to community development through sports, arts, and culture initiatives across KwaZulu-Natal. The contract will run until 31 March 2026, offering a monthly stipend of R4,000.
This programme aims to enhance local skills development while providing valuable work experience to unemployed individuals.
Key Responsibilities
-Monitor and support the progress of athletics and arts programmes.
-Collect and maintain databases for athletes and artists at ward and local level.
-Participate in and attend Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) War Room meetings.
-Assist in administrative and operational duties as required by the department.
Requirements
–Grade 12 plus a relevant qualification.
-Must currently be unemployed.
-Must reside within the district where the job opportunity is advertised.
Skills Required
- Strong communication skills.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of administrative duties.
- Numerical and literacy skills.
Contract Details
- Monthly stipend: R4,000
- Contract period: Until 31 March 2026
