Overview

The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking 10 UI Claims Officers to join their Western Cape Provincial Office. This role focuses on processing and assessing unemployment insurance claims, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely service delivery to clients.

Key Responsibilities

-Receive and assess UI claims in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

-Register all employers and verify declarations of employees.

-Execute timely payment of approved claims.

-Handle enquiries related to claims processing.

-Perform general administrative duties in the section.

Requirements

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
• 0–6 months of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of:
  • Unemployment Insurance Act & Contributions Act
  • Public Service Regulations & Policies
  • Batho Pele Principles & Customer Care
• Skills in:
  • Communication (verbal & written)
  • Listening and decision-making
  • Customer relations and computer literacy
