Role Summary
The Pharmacist Assistant Learner is responsible for assisting with the provision of medication and supplementary pharmacy services under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist. The learner will support patient care by ensuring medication is dispensed accurately, safely, and in compliance with pharmacy regulations and Netcare policies.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence โ Stock Control
- Participate in cyclical and full stock-take processes.
- Assist with procurement and ethical stock control.
- Process stock for internal departments and inter-clinic sales.
- Manage designated stock areas in line with Netcare Stock Management policies.
Medication Dispensing & Patient Care
- Assist the pharmacist in all aspects of dispensing medication.
- Pick and package medicines under pharmacist supervision.
- Capture dispensed items and prescriptions on the Unisolve system.
- Maintain and update patient profiles accurately.
- Assist with monthly chronic medicine recalls.
- Follow up on outstanding medication timeously.
Administration & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with South African Pharmacy Council regulations.
- Conduct housekeeping and pharmacy administrative tasks.
- Perform duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist.
Teamwork & Professional Development
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Participate actively in professional development activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Netcare policies and procedures.
- Build effective stakeholder relationships and contribute to a positive work environment.
Working Conditions
