Overview
FlySafair, a leading South African aviation company, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Aviation Security Investigator to join the Compliance Department at its Johannesburg Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting investigations into security breaches, ensuring compliance with national and international aviation security regulations, and enhancing overall security operations.
Key Responsibilities
-Conduct thorough investigations into security breaches, threats, and suspicious activities.
-Collect and analyse evidence, including CCTV footage and incident reports.
-Document findings and prepare comprehensive investigative reports.
-Ensure compliance with SACAA and other relevant aviation security regulations.
-Identify vulnerabilities and recommend effective risk mitigation measures.
-Monitor and enforce security protocols across the organisation.
-Liaise with intelligence and regulatory bodies on emerging security threats.
-Support security audits, inspections, and emergency response planning.
-Assist in managing hijackings, bomb threats, and unauthorised access cases.
-Conduct and review annual risk assessments and maintain the Risk Register.
-Promote a strong security culture through staff engagement and training.
-Prepare trend analysis reports to identify recurring threats.
-Conduct spot checks on cabin crew adherence to security procedures, including luggage inspections.
-Collaborate with cabin crew management to ensure integration of security protocols into flight operations.
-Provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions based on investigative findings.
Requirements & Skills
–Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential).
-Investigation training or certification (Essential).
-Minimum of 5 yearsโ experience in airline or security environment (Essential).
-Knowledge of SACAA security responsibilities and international aviation security requirements.
-Valid South African driverโs license (Essential).
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
-Experience with IQSMS system (Advantageous).
-State Security Authority Vetting (Advantageous).
-Willingness to travel to all operational bases, work overtime, and be on standby.
-Strong investigative, analytical, and report-writing skills.
