Overview
Eskom is inviting applications for five Learner Hospitality positions on a 24-month fixed term contract at the Eskom Academy of Learning in Midrand.
The purpose of this programme is to provide structured workplace exposure within a professional hospitality and catering environment. The successful candidates will support the Executive Chef and hospitality team in the daily operational and administrative running of the kitchen while gaining practical industry experience.
This opportunity is ideal for graduates who have completed a relevant hospitality qualification and are seeking practical workplace exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and production of food
- Support the control and management of stock
- Perform administrative duties within the kitchen environment
- Assist with the implementation of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) processes
- Provide customer service within the hospitality environment
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety standards
Minimum Requirements
Qualification
- National Diploma or National N Diploma in Catering Management, Hospitality and Catering Services, or Hotel School Qualification at NQF Level 6 with 240 credits
Experience
- No prior experience required
Skills and Attributes
- Good communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic administrative understanding
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene principles
