Overview

Transnet Freight Rail is hiring 8 General Workers to assist with track engineering, maintenance, and construction work.

This role is ideal for physically fit candidates willing to work in outdoor environments and support construction operations.

Minimum Requirements

-Minimum Grade 9

-OR at least 6 months relevant experience

-Physically fit (medical examination required)

-Ability to communicate in English

Required Skills & Competencies

-Safety conscious

-Able to work in adverse weather conditions

-Willing to work overtime when required

-Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

-Willing to perform physical labour

-Able to work in noisy environments

Key Responsibilities

-Assist supervisors and team leaders with assigned tasks

-Handle loading and offloading of materials

-Clean work sites and remove rubble/materials

-Use non-mechanised hand tools

-Maintain tools and equipment
