Overview
The Department of Employment and Labour is recruiting 340 Client Service Officers (Claims Credit Officers) to join its financial and claims processing teams across various Labour Centres and Satellite Offices. This large-scale recruitment offers an opportunity to contribute to the effective administration of Unemployment Insurance claims and public finance duties.
These roles are essential for improving service delivery, financial control, and claim resolution within the UIF environment. Applicants with strong communication, administrative, and financial skills are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, manage, and process Unemployment Insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate electronic and manual debtor records.
- Communicate with clients, employers, and stakeholders on outstanding payments and overpayments.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with UIA, UICA, PFMA, and related legislation.
- Apply financial procedures according to GRAP and GAAP principles.
- Provide high-quality client service across all communication platforms.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)
- Experience: 0โ6 months (related internship experience is advantageous)
- Knowledge of:
- Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA)
- Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA)
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Generally Recognised Accounting Principles (GRAP)
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Skills:
- Financial and analytical skills
- Verbal and written communication
- Time management and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
