Overview
Government departments across South Africa are seeking reliable and experienced Drivers/Messengers to support transportation and delivery operations. These positions ensure the safe movement of officials, staff, and documents, and require a high level of responsibility, discretion, and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities
-Transport government officials, staff, and guests safely and efficiently.
-Perform messenger tasks such as collecting and delivering documents and parcels.
-Ensure proper upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of government vehicles.
-Complete vehicle logs, delivery logs, mileage, and fuel usage records.
-Follow assigned routes, adjust as needed, and comply with safety and traffic regulations.
-Handle administrative support tasks linked to transport and messenger functions.
-Secure sensitive information and maintain confidentiality during document handling.
-Follow all government policies on transport and document procedures.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Grade 10 / ABET Level 4 or equivalent.
- Driverโs Licence: Valid SA Driverโs Licence (some posts require a Professional Driving Permit).
- Experience: 1โ2 years of relevant driving or messenger work experience preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Communication (verbal and written)
- Map reading and route planning
- Knowledge of transport regulations and public service acts
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Reliability, discretion, and punctuality
