Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Store Cleaner for its Krugersdorp branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the store and ensuring all areas meet the companyโs high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store and communal areas.
- Ensure restrooms and canteens are clean, hygienic, and fully stocked at all times.
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning routines, including vacuuming, dusting, and sanitising.
- Ensure cleaning equipment and utensils are safely stored when not in use.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including displaying wet floor signs when cleaning.
- Provide friendly assistance to customers when needed and guide them to the correct staff or floor.
- Report maintenance issues such as faulty lights, taps, or doors to the team leader.
- Communicate effectively with staff and guests while maintaining professionalism.
Requirements & Skills
- Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
- Previous cleaning experience will be advantageous.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, honesty, and reliability.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (additional languages advantageous).
Additional Conditions
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Clear criminal and credit record (MIE checks will apply).
- Own reliable transport and valid driverโs license preferred.
