Overview
PFG Building Glass, a division of the PG Group and the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, is seeking a 5T Dayshift Forklift Driver at its Springs facility. With an annual output of 260,000 tons of float glass, PFG supplies both the domestic and international building and automotive industries.
This role is vital to ensuring that glass products are handled, stored, and moved safely and efficiently in line with strict operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklift and overhead crane in line with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct full inspections of equipment, ensuring records are kept and issues reported to the Cold End Co-ordinator.
- Safely pack, handle, and store glass in designated areas.
- Adhere to company safety policies and practices at all times.
- Support operational efficiency through hands-on involvement in day-to-day tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) โ compulsory.
- Valid Code 8 Driverโs Licence.
- Valid 5/12 ton forklift licence.
- Valid overhead crane licence.
- Medically fit for duty.
Experience Needed
- At least 6 monthsโ experience operating a 5-ton forklift in a glass-handling environment.
- At least 1 yearโs experience operating a 12-ton forklift in a glass-handling environment.
